A fantastic experience, both because of the place and the guides, both Mike and his partner whose name I don't remember.

Madeira is a natural paradise ideal for adventure sports. See for yourself: jump off cliffs and climb down waterfalls on this canyoning tour from Funchal!

Canyoning in Madeira

On the morning of your activity, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Madeira and set off in an air-conditioned vehicle to the north, in the direction of the Ribeira das Cales. After an hour's drive, we'll get kitted out with all the equipment we need and receive our safety briefing from our expert English-speaking instructors, before beginning our adventure in this beautiful natural setting!

During our tour, which will last between 2 and 3 hours, we'll face different obstacles like small waterfalls, rocks, steep descents, and even natural slides. You'll have to swim and use ropes to descend the canyons and cliffs throughout the canyoning experience. A truly unique activity!

Finally, we will return to your hotel and say goodbye after approximately 6 hours in total.

Choose your Canyoning Level

When making your booking you'll be able to choose the difficulty level of the tour based on your previous experience:

Beginners' level: you'll try a beginner's canyoning route in the rivers with the constant support of the instructor. This easy route is designed for all ages and no previous experience is necessary.
Intermediate level: this harder route requires physical strength and resistance as it includes a number of challenging obstacles along the way.

Equipment

We'll provide wetsuits and neoprene shoes, harnesses, helmets, ropes, and all other canyoning equipment necessary. We recommend bringing comfortable clothes, a swimsuit, and spare shoes.

Important Info

You must know how to swim to participate in this activity.

Pickup Info

This tour includes pickup from hotels located in Funchal, Caniço, and Garajau. If you're staying outside these areas, we'll contact you after booking to arrange an alternative meeting point.
