At the selected time we'll meet in Piazza Duomo, where we'll begin our private tour of Messina by admiring the beautiful Orion Fountain. Built in the 16th century by Giovanni Angelo Montorsoli, a pupil of Michelangelo, the fountain is decorated with statues representing the Nile, Tiber, Ebro and Camaro rivers.

Continuing on, we'll visit the Messina Cathedral, a magnificent cathedral constructed in the Byzantine era and dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta. The building was almost entirely rebuilt after the earthquake that devastated the city in 1908. While we marvel at the decorative elements that characterize this temple, the guide will tell us all about its history.

We'll also check out the bell tower of the Messina Cathedral, which features the world's largest astronomical clock. Every day, at noon, its statues move to the notes of Schubert's Ave Maria... A real spectacle!

Next, the guide will take us to the port of Messina, the largest in Sicily. Near the maritime viewpoint, we'll say goodbye to our guide and conclude our tour after two hours of history, art and culture.
