Tour Details

We'll meet at the chosen time next to the Fountain of Neptune in Naples' Piazza del Municipio. Make sure your cameras are ready, because the views on this viewpoints and alleyways free tour are well worth capturing.

We'll walk to the funicular, one of Naples' most iconic modes of transport. After buying our tickets, we'll ride up the hillside and start gaining altitude. Once at the top, we'll take in sweeping panoramic views of the Gulf of Naples and the Mediterranean, with Castel dell'Ovo and Castel Sant'Elmo in sight. On a clear day, you'll also be able to see Mount Vesuvius rising on the horizon.

We'll then begin our descent through the streets of the Vomero neighborhood, a place of fascinating contrasts. We'll stroll past elegant palaces before ducking into some of Naples' most charming alleyways, discovering more modest but no less picturesque homes filled with scenes of everyday local life. Sea views will accompany us for much of the route.

We'll arrive at the Spanish Quarter, Naples' historic center. What's the connection between this neighborhood and the Spanish monarchy? We'll tell you all about it!

The streets grow narrower and more winding as we make our way to Piazza del Plebiscito, where we'll take in the facades of the Royal Palace and the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola. We'll wrap up this viewpoints and alleyways free tour of Naples right here, 2.5 hours later, with a camera full of incredible shots.

Group Size

Please note that this free tour doesn't admit groups of more than six people, even if they book the activity separately. If you're a larger group, we recommend reserving our private tour of Naples.
