Rosalía was an excellent guide, even though Civitatis didn't notify her of our reservation, she attended to us in the best way. We did the visit just the two of us. Beautiful Lugo.

Lugo Tours & Activities | Top Experiences in Galicia

Discover Lugo, a charming city in northern Spain, where history and tradition meet lively Spanish culture. Famed for its impressive Roman walls and authentic local gastronomy, this welcoming destination invites you to slow down and enjoy every corner. Here, cobbled streets, small plazas, and ancient monuments create the perfect setting for an unforgettable getaway.

A Short Journey Through Time

Lugo traces its roots back over two thousand years, founded by the Romans as Lucus Augusti. Its spectacular city walls, still beautifully preserved, stand today as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, proudly surrounding the old town. Medieval churches, Romanesque buildings, and historical squares reflect the rich past that continues to shape everyday life.

Best Time to Visit

While Lugo can be enjoyed all year round, the mild climate makes spring and early autumn especially pleasant for exploring on foot. Summer brings lively festivals and outdoor activities. Winters are cooler, but the warm local bars and hearty Galician cuisine more than make up for it.

Do You Need a Ticket to Visit the Roman Walls?

No ticket is needed. You can walk along the top of the UNESCO-listed walls for free and enjoy panoramic views of the city.

How Many Days Should You Spend Here?

One to two days is usually enough to enjoy the main highlights, from the ancient walls to the charming old town and local food markets.
